We're digitizing and cataloging the Conservatory's holdings right now — recordings transferred from aging tape and VHS, instruments with documented life stories, and films of musical and cultural icons demonstrating the pieces themselves. The first items will be published here as they're ready.
Sessions and performances digitized from reel-to-reel, cassette, and VHS — preserved before the media gives out.
Each instrument's documented provenance — maker, owners, repairs, and the music it made along the way.
Icons of music and culture talking through — and playing — relics held by the Conservatory.
The catalog is public. Every published item's story, photos, and context are free for anyone to explore.
Some media is by request. Where rights or permissions are still being confirmed, a recording's page will say "available on request" — write to us and we'll arrange a viewing or listening where we can.
Recordings on aging media, an instrument with a story, films of artists at work — if you're sitting on a piece of musical history, we'd love to hear about it. Donated instruments are re-homed through scholarships and partnered programs, each with its story documented.
